Saturday Mini Workshops

At the studio, we have designed 1-day workshops for pottery students looking to expand their skills.  Each workshop will focus on a skill during the 2.5 hour class, and students will be able to use up to two independent open studio session to finish up their pieces after the workshop.

Students enrolling must feel comfortable centering and pulling a cylinder on the pottery wheel.  Some workshops will require pieces to be at a certain phase in the process.  You can register for as many workshops as you would like to try.

Students must have taken a class at the studio, so you are familiar with studio guidelines and procedures.

While at the studio, we sometimes hear grumbling when it comes to finishing up pieces, either when decorating or glazing.  The goal of this mini workshop is to help make decorating and glazing more fun, or at least less frustrating!  We will discuss some greenware options and bisqueware options.  Participants will need to have pieces to practice on for the workshop, these can be as simple forms. If you need clay to create pieces for the workshop it will be available after registration at the studio. Workshop fee includes clay, materials for techniques, glazes, and all firings. Participants should have prior wheel experience.

*The studio will be open for workshop participants to work independently on pieces from the workshop on the following dates from 9am-12pm: March 19th, April 2nd, April 16th, April 30th (Limited to 5 students in the studio at a time.)
