Introduction to Throwing on the Wheel - Adult

This class is for students with little to no experience throwing on the wheel. Students will learn the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel during this session.

Skills that we will focus on will be wedging, centering, and pulling a cylinder. Cylinders are a form that can be coaxed into a variety of functional shapes. We will also learn how to create pulled handles. 

Surface decoration techniques that will be introduced are some basic slip and underglaze design with sgraffito. Last but not least, glazing will be the final topic to be covered.

Students typically complete around 3-5 pieces to fire and glaze.

Class fee includes 1, 12 lb bag of clay, glaze, tools, all firings, and 2 open studio passes. *tool kits available for purchase

Open studio passes must be used within 2 weeks following the last class date.  All pieces must be picked up within 2 months after last class date.

Session Dates:

Fall I: Intro to Wheel and Handbuilding Wednesday 6:30-8:30pm with Narga October 1st-29th (5 week session)

Fall I: Offering Mixed Levels on Friday AM, Thursday PM, and Saturday AM, beginners are welcome to join!
