Handbuilt Lady in Red Fern vase inspired by the gardens surrounding the studio. This piece would make a statement on the mantle or as a centerpiece.
This piece was built with a large slab of clay imprinted with a fern leaf, then constructed and fired. The bisque piece was then painted with underglaze and wiped off, leaving the black underglaze in the recessed fern texture really making the fern pop. Glaze was applied and then return to the kiln for the final firing where kiln temperatures reach just over 2200 degrees.
Measurements: height 14" X 8" at the largest width
